Former BPD deputy commissioner named first chief of security for Buffalo Public Schools
Barbara A. Lark, who retired as the deputy police commissioner for the Buffalo Police Department, started as Buffalo Public Schools' chief of security on Nov. 7, 2022. Lark worked nearly three decades in public safety for the City of Buffalo, while also serving as a school resource officer, police detective and D.A.R.E. officer. Lark served as first deputy police commissioner under Byron Lockwood beginning in 2018 and Joseph Gramaglia in 2021.
